The American Alligator was nearly driven to extinction. Thankfully due to the preservation efforts these gators are now thriving. They are still protected today. The American Alligator lives exclusively in the lover southern part of the United States. Gators are crocodilian which there are crocodilians all over the world. The American gator can be found now were else, but in the US.
Alligators are opportunistic carnivores eating insects, small fish and frogs when little, going on to eat just about anything they can grab from the shore or in the water including larger animals like dogs, large wild cats, like in panthers and anything that ventures into the dark waters they prefer to inhabit. It's all fair game. The American Alligator prefers fresh water lakes, canal and wetlands but they can spend some time in salt water. South Florida is the only place that gators and crocs which prefer brackish water can live side by side.
American Alligators can live 35-50 years and grow about...
In a world filled with constant noise & distractions, I find solace in the simple things in life & the unspoiled beauty of nature. A way to connect with the Earth and find inner peace. I hope to leave behind a legacy of my love for nature through my photography, hoping to inspire others to find their own sense of solitude in the beauty of the world that surrounds them. Through my art, I invite you to slow down, breathe in the simple beauty and recognize the deep sense of tranquility that the natural world offers. This is your invitation to make those connections, and in doing so find a deeper sense of peace & purpose in life. My Website I work with my husband Timo, traveling and photographing our journey along the way....
