Description
This pretty little female cormorant was not as fearful as humans as she should have been. She was sitting on the rail of the walkway and people were just walked by her within a few few. I was just a few feet away at the moment I captured this image.
The cormorant is a water bird. Very comfortable diving under water for its meal. Cormorants are a favorite amongst bird watchers, known for their gorgeous glass blue yes, especially on the male cormorant.
I have only recently taken up bird watching myself as a way of getting outside during isolating due to the COVID pandemic. The Florida wetlands are a fantastic place for photographing birds. This particular shot came out of the Wacodahatchee wetlands. Great spot for observing all sorts of diving birds, wadding birds, raptors and various other water fowl,
