Artist's Description
Sun just peaking over the top of the mountains at Lake George in Mammoth Lakes, California. Late summer and the morning air was just beginning to feel like Fall, cool and slightly crisp. There were no sounds except for 2 lone fisherman talking quietly while floating out in the middle of the lake.
Lake George is one of the smaller of the Mammoth Lakes, but it is the deepest and the scenery is spectacular. Surrounded by pine forests and mountains, the infamous Crystal Crag reflects on the mirror finish of the water.
At the tiny Lake George marina, yellow fishing boats, parked along the dock wait for fisherman to set them afloat.
Lake George sits at 9000 feet elevation making it the highest of the lakes in the Mammoth Lakes basin. It is known for it's big brown and rainbow trout. Spectacular scenery and abundant fish, makes Lake George a fisherman's paradise.
