Description
Pretty little pink roseate spoonbill enjoying a refreshing drink of water on a hot day. I call her Jewel because people often think that the sparkling drop of water looks like a jewel or a diamond. These birds are absolutely fascinating to me and I love photographing them. The are pretty, yet so strange, possibly even prehistoric. The Roseate Spoonbill has a long flat spoon shaped bill that the drag from side to side through the water filter little morsels to eat. The Roseate Spoonbill is the only truly pink bird making them extra special.
