Nothing cuter than a baby, but make it a 6 week old lion cub.....wow! One of the most amazing moments in our lives. We were in South Africa, near Kruger at a gorgeous reserve, andBeyond Kirkman's Kamp for 3 days of safari.
It was our final day and while we had heard of this lion cub, we had not found him yet. It was our final outing on the rainy morning of our last day and we rushed out before the others to the area we had heard the small pride of lions had last been seen. Driving slowly through through the constant drizzle, someone at the back of the truck yelled "STOP". "Backup, I think I saw something gold in the grass!" Our guide slowly backed up and there it was, the smallest little patch of gold in the tall green grass.
Our guide carefully maneuvered the truck slowly toward the golden patch. There they were, this beautiful lioness and her precious little lion cub. For the next 45 mins we watched as they slowly awakened, mom gave morning kisses, they stretched, walked aro...
In a world filled with constant noise & distractions, I find solace in the simple things in life & the unspoiled beauty of nature. A way to connect with the Earth and find inner peace. I hope to leave behind a legacy of my love for nature through my photography, hoping to inspire others to find their own sense of solitude in the beauty of the world that surrounds them.
