The loggerhead sea turtle is and ocean living turtle. It is a marine reptile and can weigh as much as 350 lbs. and 2.5 to 3.5 feet long when fully grown. The Loggerhead has a large head and a very strong jaw. This turtle is a carnivore and survives mostly on shellfish that live on or near the ocean floor. With their powerful jaw they can easily crack open shells of all sorts.
Loggerheads nest on once every 2-4 years. They deposit 100+ eggs in 4-6 nests over a 2 week period.
They are endangered in many locations, threatened in others, so to become endangered and if not careful they could become extinct. Their greatest problem right now is lack of nesting locations that are safe. They are frequently accidentally captured in fishing nets. There is an estimated 40-50,000 Loggerhead turtles left in the world.
In a world filled with constant noise & distractions, I find solace in the simple things in life & the unspoiled beauty of nature. A way to connect with the Earth and find inner peace. I hope to leave behind a legacy of my love for nature through my photography, hoping to inspire others to find their own sense of solitude in the beauty of the world that surrounds them. Through my art, I invite you to slow down, breathe in the simple beauty and recognize the deep sense of tranquility that the natural world offers. This is your invitation to make those connections, and in doing so find a deeper sense of peace & purpose in life. My Website I work with my husband Timo, traveling and photographing our journey along the way....
