Description
This is clearly a male waterbuck as only the male waterbuck has horns. Horns have rings and be as much as 40 inches long. Sometimes these elegant dagger like horns are used to fight and as you might imagine occasionally it is a fight to the death.
As with so much of this planets wildlife, the waterbuck habitat is diminishing as humans with their roads, agriculture and settlements take over. Thanks to conservation efforts to save wildlife, corridors are being constructed in order for waterbuck and other wildlife to safely cross from one park to another.
