Description
Every October Albuquerque, New Mexico, holds an event like not other. The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta takes place in the beautiful Rio Grand Valley, beginning during the crisp Autumn mornings with the Dawn Patrol and climaxing with the Mass Ascension. During this stunning ascension, over 500 colorful hot air balloons lift into the air, all at once, wave after wave. They begin with the balloons laying on the ground as the roar of the massive heaters begins filling the balloons with hot air. Slowly the balloons stand upright, so tightly packed they are all touching each other. Then whenever riders are ready, they lift off.
As one of the most photographed events in the world it is something that you do not want to miss. Make it a priority on your must see things to do. We have been 3 times, we enjoy it that much.
While visiting the Balloon Festival make time to visit Santa Fe, our second home and the beautiful scenery all around
