Description
From our ABNB, we caught glimpses of the Meteora pinnacles, but it was as if I were a child in a candy store when we eventually ascended the heights. The clouds gracefully clung to the towering peaks, casting an aura of dark and dramatic colors, and I couldn't help but feel transported to an entirely different realm – it was utterly breathtaking.
Among these towering pillars, several house multiple monasteries, a testament to the remarkable human endeavor of constructing 24 monasteries on these imposing rocks during the 13th and 14th centuries. The landscape also features the intriguing Hermit caves hewn into the rock face. Today, Meteora proudly holds the distinction of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserving this extraordinary intersection of nature and human history for the world to admire.
