Description
Located approximately 40 minutes from Santa Fe, the Pecos Indian Pueblo Ruins hold a compelling historical narrative. Originally, this site housed an old mission built by the Spanish, which met destruction during a revolt against their rule. After their return, the mission was meticulously reconstructed, and the present-day ruins bear witness to this remarkable second endeavor, serving as a tangible connection to the complex interplay of cultures and events that have shaped the region's history.
