Description
The Roseate Spoonbill is the only truly pink bird, meaning their pink color doesn't necessarily depend on what they eat. The first time I saw them while living in Florida, I fell in love. While they do live in Florida, they are not plentiful. My first Roseate Spoonbill encounter I was giddy with excitement. There was probably about 30. This encounter they were close but barely visible through the the trees at the Ding Darling Reserve on the Gulf side of Florida. They were a small group of about 5 and were slowly wading through the water and preening in the morning sun.
When it come to birds in wildlife, bird lovers will definitely want to get a glimpse of these fascinating birds when you can.
