Description
I love these birds, Sandhill Cranes. They are very large birds standing as much as 4 1/2 feet tall. They migrate through the state of New Mexico coming from as far away as Northern Canada and Greenland where they nest and raise their young for the summer.
Starting about November they begin arriving all along the bosque her in New Mexico for a little bit of rest during their long migration. This bird is a particular favorite for everyone, capturing the eyes of people for a across the gallery of art, and I have her in a somewhat more artistic piece as well. She looks beautiful printed up large on metal. I know, because she hangs over our sofa in the livingroom. A real conversation piece.
I also love this shot of her as orginally captured. The look is more subtle, monochromatic with the background matching her perfectly.
