Artist's Description
Back in one of my favorite places, under the pier. This is the Juno Pier in Juno Beach, Florida. Sunrises are on the Atlantic in Florida are beautiful. Like sunsets, one just can't get enough because no two are the same. What I love about sunrises on the Atlantic is the color of the water.
The Juno Beach Pier is a concrete pier, and is part of the Juno Beach Initiative, a wildlife conservation effort. Like most places in Florida, wildlife is bountiful, and of particular interest to me is the sea turtles that come every year to lay their eggs. On this very morning there were no less than 5 turtle nests within 25 feet of the pier pilings.
It costs money to go out on the pier, but it goes for a good cause and it's just a couple of bucks for fisherman and one dollar to just walk out on the pier and watch.
They have marine life educational programs and first responders who can help injured sea turtles. So cool. One of the things I love about Florida is the way they care for all...
