Artist's Description

Imagine a time when dragons really existed. That's actually never if we are talking about fire breathing mythical creature. However the dragon fantasy is real and thriving in the beautiful Anza Borrego desert. Ricardo Breceda is the artist responsible for the amazing metal sculpture. She stands 15 feet tall and 350 feet long as she undulates across the floor of the Galleta Meadows.
Breceda sculpted 130 pieces throughout the Borrego Springs vicinity. This serpent is by far my favorite. It made me feel as if I was walking on another far away planet. While she wasn't breathing fire, it was hot enough out there in the desert that she might as well have been.

About Rebecca Herranen

Rebecca Herranen

In a world filled with constant noise & distractions, I find solace in the simple things in life & the unspoiled beauty of nature. A way to connect with the Earth and find inner peace. I hope to leave behind a legacy of my love for nature through my photography, hoping to inspire others to find their own sense of solitude in the beauty of the world that surrounds them. Through my art, I invite you to slow down, breathe in the simple beauty and recognize the deep sense of tranquility that the natural world offers. This is your invitation to make those connections, and in doing so find a deeper sense of peace & purpose in life. My Website I work with my husband Timo, traveling and photographing our journey along the way....
