Artist's Description
The Taos Pueblo is over 1000 years old and it still inhabited. Constructed entirely of wood, straw and dirt requires significant yearly upkeep. There is no running water or electricity by the mandate of pueblo traditional law. The Taos Pueblo was designated a UNESCO Heritage Site in 1992. The pueblo is a beautiful example of traditional pueblo architecture.
About Rebecca Herranen
In a world filled with constant noise & distractions, I find solace in the simple things in life & the unspoiled beauty of nature. A way to connect with the Earth and find inner peace. I hope to leave behind a legacy of my love for nature through my photography, hoping to inspire others to find their own sense of solitude in the beauty of the world that surrounds them. Through my art, I invite you to slow down, breathe in the simple beauty and recognize the deep sense of tranquility that the natural world offers. This is your invitation to make those connections, and in doing so find a deeper sense of peace & purpose in life. My Website I work with my husband Timo, traveling and photographing our journey along the way....

I used to live within reasonable driving distance of Taos. I remember the pueblo, but not that it was this large. I was in 2nd and 3rd grades at the time.
