Artist's Description

Still inhabited, the Taos Pueblo is a treasure into the past. Over 1000 years old, its history is rich. There are between 50 and 100 Taos Indians who still live there full time. Made entirely of adobe makes upkeep a constant endeavor in order to keep up its beautiful appearance. Repairs are made every year by tribal member using the mud and straw mixtures. Over time that makes for very thick walls and at times parts of walls must be knocked down.

There are many homes in the Taos Pueblo and according to tribal tradition there is no running water or electricity.

About Rebecca Herranen

Rebecca Herranen

In a world filled with constant noise & distractions, I find solace in the simple things in life & the unspoiled beauty of nature. A way to connect with the Earth and find inner peace. I hope to leave behind a legacy of my love for nature through my photography, hoping to inspire others to find their own sense of solitude in the beauty of the world that surrounds them. Through my art, I invite you to slow down, breathe in the simple beauty and recognize the deep sense of tranquility that the natural world offers. This is your invitation to make those connections, and in doing so find a deeper sense of peace & purpose in life. My Website I work with my husband Timo, traveling and photographing our journey along the way....
